The Pandyan Empire

The Pandyan Empire was an ancient Tamil kingdom that existed in southern India from around the 3rd century BCE to the 13th century CE. The kingdom was known for its trade, particularly in pearls and spices, and for its powerful navy. The Pandyan capital was Madurai, and the empire included parts of present-day Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Sri Lanka. The empire reached its peak of power and prosperity during the 6th and 7th centuries CE, but it declined and was eventually conquered by the Cholas and later the Pandyas.
