The Licchavi dynasty

 The Licchavi dynasty was an ancient Indian dynasty that ruled in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal from around 400 to 750 CE. They were a powerful ruling dynasty and their kingdom covered a large area of the Himalayan region. They were known for their cultural and architectural achievements, such as the building of many temples and stupas. The Licchavis are also said to have been responsible for the spread of Buddhism in the Kathmandu Valley. The Licchavi dynasty came to an end with the arrival of the Thakuri dynasty in the 8th century.
