The Haryanka dynasty was a ruling dynasty of ancient India that existed during the 6th and 5th centuries BCE. It was founded by Bimbisara, who expanded the kingdom of Magadha, located in the modern-day Indian state of Bihar, and made it one of the most powerful empires in ancient India. Ajatashatru, the son of Bimbisara, succeeded him and continued to expand the kingdom. The Haryanka dynasty came to an end with the rise of the Shishunaga dynasty.
