The Dogras were a Hindu dynasty that ruled over the region for over a century, until the partition of India in 1947. During their rule, the Dogras implemented several reforms and modernization projects, and also played a key role in the politics and administration of British India. The last ruler of the Dogra Dynasty was Hari Singh, who was the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir at the time of the partition.
