Maharana Pratap was a Rajput king of Mewar, a region in northwest India in the 16th century. He is considered one of the greatest warriors of his time and is known for his resistance against the Mughal emperor Akbar's attempts to conquer Mewar. Pratap's most famous battle was the Battle of Haldighati, fought in 1576, where his smaller army defeated the much larger Mughal army. Despite not ultimately defeating the Mughals, Pratap's resistance and ability to evade capture made him a symbol of Rajput pride and courage. He died in 1597 while leading a campaign against the Mughals.
