Short Biography Krishna III

Krishna III (also known as Kṛṣṇa III or KR3) was a king of the Rashtrakuta dynasty of India who ruled from 939 CE to 967 CE. He is considered as one of the greatest kings of the dynasty. He expanded the empire by military campaigns, conquered the Eastern Chalukya and the Western Chalukya kingdoms, and also expanded southwards. He was an accomplished king who patronized the arts, letters, and religion. He built many temples, and also composed poetry and prose in the Kannada language, the language of the land. He is also known as a patron of the Kannada language and literature, and his reign is considered a golden age in the history of Kannada literature.
